1949 - In the United States the decade closed with the sound of music which was often joyful and frantic.
But despite the Blacks� Rhythm & Blues Top 40 as well as the Country and Western Top 40,
the music which echoed out of the jukeboxes was often tinted with Rock�n�Roll.
